    What This Tool Does

The LinkedIn Character Counter tracks your text length across LinkedIn's content types, including posts, article titles, profile headlines, and summaries. Each has a different limit, and preset buttons let you switch between them instantly.

LinkedIn is a professional platform where polished, well-structured content performs best. Knowing your exact character count helps you craft posts that fit within limits and display cleanly without unexpected truncation.

    How to Use This Tool

    1. Choose a content type preset: Post (3,000), Article Title (150), Headline (220), or Summary (2,600).
    2. Paste or type your text into the input area.
    3. Monitor the real-time character count and progress bar.
    4. Check the stats grid for word count and paragraph count.
    5. Copy your text when it's ready to publish.

    Why Character Limits Matter

LinkedIn enforces distinct character limits for each content type, and text that exceeds them is either truncated or cannot be saved.

    • Posts are truncated after approximately 210 characters with a 'see more' link in the feed.
    • Profile headlines are limited to 220 characters and appear directly below your name.
    • Article titles exceeding 150 characters may be cut off in previews and notifications.
    • The About/Summary section allows up to 2,600 characters — a key space for personal branding.
    • Well-sized posts that avoid truncation tend to receive higher engagement.
