Threads character limit
Each post on Threads can be up to 500 characters. Meta has also announced a text attachment for longer text, up to 10,000 characters, so a long piece may not need splitting at all. Check the current app to see whether it is available to you.

How to make a thread on Threads
In the Threads app
- Open the composer and write your first post.
- Use the option to add to the thread below your post to start the next one. Repeat for each post.
- Check each post, then select Post to publish the whole thread.

Numbering and formatting
Numbers help readers follow a long thread. This tool can add them in these styles, at the start or the end of each post:

- Shows the total, so readers know how long the thread is. Pick it when the thread is finished before you post.

- The same information in brackets, which some people find easier to scan.

Threads shows plain text, so keep line breaks simple.
