How it works
- Type the line you want in wide letters.
- Leave spacing off for a solid fullwidth line, or turn on Space between letters.
- Copy it and read both counts under the result before you paste.
What wide text maps
Every printable ASCII character from U+0021 to U+007E moves to the matching fullwidth character from U+FF01 to U+FF5E. That covers capitals, small letters, digits and punctuation such as the exclamation mark and the tilde.
An ordinary space becomes U+3000. Letters that are not ASCII, including accented letters and emoji, stay as they are. A line break stays a line break, and spacing does not insert a gap across it.
Spacing between letters
The spacing switch inserts U+3000 between graphemes that are not already separated by whitespace. With spacing on, AB and A B look the same, because the typed space and the inserted space are the same character.
Two typed spaces stay two ideographic spaces. Turning the switch off removes only the inserted gaps, and the mapped spaces from your own typing remain.
How the counts differ
Fullwidth characters take more room on the line. The count on X weighs each of them as 2. This page does not guess how any other platform counts them.
A fullwidth letter is one code point and one UTF-16 code unit, and it weighs 2 on X. The numbers under the result are the character count, the UTF-16 length and that X count. An ASCII letter of the same word weighs 1 on X. The Twitter character counter uses that same weight.
Do not rely on the wide line alone
Screen readers may read these characters badly, often as fullwidth letters rather than as the word. Do not use them for important information, or as the only copy of a name, a link or an address.
Smaller letters, when you want less room rather than more, are a different conversion. The hub still lists every other style if wide text is not the one you needed. For a frame around the wide letters, use the wide preset on the mixer and turn a border on.

Frequently asked questions
What is vaporwave text here?
It is fullwidth Latin letters, digits and punctuation, plus the ideographic space. Wide text on this page means that same mapping.
Does spacing change the letters?
No. Spacing only inserts U+3000 between letters. The letters stay fullwidth either way.
Why is the count on X higher?
Each fullwidth character weighs 2 under the X counting rules this site already uses. The figure under the result is that weight, next to the plain character count.
Will other platforms count it the same way?
This page does not say. It shows the character count and the count on X, which the engine calculates. It does not claim a number for any other platform.
Can a screen reader read the wide words?
Do not assume it. Repeat a name, a link or an address in ordinary letters beside the wide line.
